Compass aims to further develop live art in Yorkshire and the Humber. It is led by a consortium made up of East Street Arts, Peter Reed and Annie Lloyd.
The aim is to strengthen and sustain the ambitions, diversity and vitality of the art form through: infrastructure development between practitioners, programmers and Education Institutions; a unique series of programming initiatives linking venues, practitioners, current and new audiences; professional development workshops; a weekend symposium and accompanying festival. This framework will provide the basis for researching a longer term vision for the sector to work towards over the next five years.
- Live art in the public realm and as socially engaged practice as a potential unique area of activity to build an ambitious and long-term vision for live art in Yorkshire and the Humber
- The publics' appetite for different approaches to live art by both local and international live art practice in the region
- The possibilities of collaboration between different types of venues, programmers and Higher Education Institutions
- The potential of an online platform that is accessible for practitioners, programmers and Higher Education Institutions from the region and beyond to share information and develop projects
