The Symposium was a weekend of engaging reflection and discussion on live art in the public realm and live art as socially engaged practice. Director Sarah Spanton presents this record and interpretation of some of the wide-ranging dialogue that took place over these three seminal days in Leeds.

Aimed at practitioners, programmers, curators, producers, academics and postgraduate students, the Symposium brought together national and international artists and programmers who actively participated in this series of facilitated provocations and events.

Held at Patrick Studios and Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds, it ran alongside the Compass Festival and featured Ilana Mitchell, Rajni Shah, Charlie Fox, and Sue Ball amongst others.
