Compass Live Art would like to express solidarity with those that are affected by the conflict in the Ukraine. We have complied some of the ways that you can support below:
Leeds Supporting Ukraine
In response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine Leeds 2023 invited Alan Lane, Artistic Director of Slung Low, to reflect on the role of culture in a time of crisis.
Leeds 2023 will also be compiling a list of upcoming events showing solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Let them know if you are planning any events or appeals
Leeds City Council have launched the Leeds Together For Ukraine appeal to help those facing upheaval and heartbreak following the invasion of Ukraine.
Artists With Ukraine at Slung Low
Sunday 3rd April – 7pm
Theatre artists and companies from across Leeds are gathering for a night of performance to raise money for Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine appeal.
Arts Council England
ACE has also issued guidance for organisations and individual practitioners who are planning, preparing or presenting work in England which involves companies or individuals from Russia or Belarus. It is also intended for those cultural organisations and individual practitioners who are planning projects in Russia or Belarus.
Artists At Risk
We would like to take this opportunity to draw attention to the work of Artists at Risk which works with artists around the world, including those affected by war and crises such as those in Ukraine and Afghanistan. They focus on helping artists to safety and placing them in welcoming artist communities.
