WARMTH is a very special project by Sheffield-based artist Bethany Wells, has been commissioned especially for Compass Festival 2016.
Inspired by Finnish sauna culture, Bethany has built a mobile, wood-fired sauna in a converted horse trailer, functioning as a space for experimental performance and impromptu gatherings.
During the first weekend of Compass Festival 2016, between12 – 14 November, we’re inviting proposals from members of the public who would like to host a meeting, small gathering or discussion in the sauna – a unique, free and comfortable space in the heart of Leeds’ oldest street, Kirkgate.
It might be the AGM of your WI branch, office coffee morning or a small reunion of friends, whatever it is let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Previous guest events hosted at WARMTH have included a Buddhist monk offering a space of reflection, a butoh dance workshop, friends gathering to learn a folk song, and a discussion on alternative education.
WARMTH has a maximum capacity of 8 people at any one time, bring your own towels or borrow some of ours.
Locker and changing facilities provided.
