New Work Yorkshire (NWY) is pleased to present its new programme The Engine: 4 new partnership projects taking place in the next few months. Each project is being developed and managed by a NWY member and is exclusively aimed at the supporting NWY members (over 120 practitioners from across the region), and the wider network as whole – aiming to develop Yorkshire further as a vibrant and diverse region for New Work* practice. Each practitioner will be closely supported by New Work Yorkshire's Management Group members to realise their project.
The 4 partner practitioners are:
Jean McEwan – I stood Up and I Said Yeah is a brand new zine for and by the New Work Yorkshire membership, it will be paper-based and available as a pdf, the first edition will be out in April 2011.
Matthew Allen – The Skeleton Project will present a New Work Yorkshire members edition of its artist's work in progress platform Newk, in the Summer/Autumn of 2011.
Rachel Lois Clapham – WRITING (the) SPACE: New Work Yorkshire members will work alongside Rachel Lois Clapham to present a series of public events and an exhibition around the poetics of writing in contemporary performance related practice. At Wild Pansy Press Project Space, (WPPS) Leeds. Taking place in May 2011.
Douglas Thompson – Whilst as artist in residence at Bradford Playhouse, Douglas Thompson will be mentored by New Work Yorkshire Management Group member Sohail Khan to develop a professional development project for artists from across the disciplines, taking place in Summer 2011.
